Mykonos vs Ibiza the winner is... ?

Ibiza or Mykonos? The two islands compete for the best star spots. Who will win this paradise island game?

The size matter?

Total superficie of Mykonos : 100km2 vs total superficie of Ibiza : 571 km2

Beaches:

Ibiza: Fine sand, turquoise sea and mono-kini: this is the ideal equation of the beach in Ibiza. The small island is bordered by 56 dream spots, but some of them stand out from the crowd. Comte for its breathtaking beauty or Espou for del Lleo for its tranquility receive annual visits from the stars. But it is offshore, on yachts as big as buildings that the stars prefer to spend their holidays in Ibiza.

Mykonos: Mykonos has many fine sandy beaches and crystal clear waters that have made many a star in Mykonos. The two most festive for tourists are Paradise and Super Paradise (the counterpart of Nikki Beach) but the one preferred by the stars is Nammos Beach located in the bay of Psarou, in the south of Mykonos Island. Other popular beaches include Elia Beach, Platis Yialos, Ornos, Kalafati and the wild Agios Sostis.

Parties:

Ibiza: Even without the Guetta couple, Ibiza nights still shine bright. Some stars creats events as the birthday of the designer Ricardo Tisci from Givenchy has been added to the pantheon of the best evenings. For his 40th birthday, the man who dresses and undresses the stars was able to count on a guest list worthy of the Oscars. Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber, Paris Hilton, Jessica Chastain, Pedro Almodovar and so many others landed on the Spanish island especially for the occasion. When the time is not for partying but for fighting, Ibiza is still "the place to be". The bloodbath between Orlando Bloom and Justin Bieber took place outside a restaurant on the island under the amused gaze of Leonardo DiCaprio and Lindsay Lohan.

Mykonos: Temple of the party, Paradise Beach is very popular with the greatest DJs on the planet to come and perform but much less so with personalities who prefer more intimate places to party. In the first place, they prefer to stay bunkered in their villa or on their yacht and organize private parties with fine wine and champagne as it was the case for the Kardashian clan last April for example or for Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell last summer. The Hotel Belvedere is also a good compromise for a romantic start to the evening. Other places where you are likely to come face to face with stars include the Caprice bar or the famous gay bars Pierro's and Jackie O.

Style:

Ibiza: Basic rule in Ibiza: At any time of the day or night, you have to wear a bathing suit. The nights may be cool in the Balearic archipelago, but Michelle Rodriguez has kept her bikini on to have fun until the early hours of the morning. Lindsay Lohan, who flew from Ibiza to Mykonos in a private jet, stood out in a bright yellow fishnet room.

Mykonos: Pink shorts, white tank top, hat. With such a look, Cristiano Ronaldo did not go unnoticed in the streets of Mykonos when he spends his holidays there. Lindsay Lohan took her best collection of bikinis with her to jet ski and polish her tan on the second most popular island in the Cyclades. Special mention to Zahia Dehar too, who took the bare minimum to go on holiday. Her holiday photo with her black panties and top, beige hat and sunglasses, has ignited the social networks.

History:

Ibiza: Before becoming the centre of the world of nightclub aficionados, the island was mainly a meeting place for hippies. In 1973, the opening of the club Le Pacha changed the habits of the beach party people. Electro music quietly crept into the ears of holidaymakers until it became the official rhythm of the island. It wasn't until 2002 that France took over the hectic Ibiza. The late couple Guetta imported their F*ck me i'm famous evenings there, which were a success and obtained the much sought-after recognition for the island.

Mykonos: Since the mythical couple Jackie Kennedy/Aristote Onassis made it their HQ in the 60s, Mykonos has become very trendy among the stars. For 50 years, the international jet-set has flown to one of the busiest islands in the Mediterranean.

Maria Callas, Sophia Loren, Brigitte Bardot and Grace Kelly were the first to succumb to the "jewel" of the Aegean Sea. With the most eclectic cast present this summer, the jewel has not finished shining.

Result :

The winner is... We love both, but we cannot escape the fascination of the mysterious and voluptuous landscapes of the Aegean Sea. If we could, we would spend the rest of our lives in front of this incomparable spectacle of nature. For us, the dolce vita, holidays in the sun, the turquoise blue sea and endless parties with champagne, afternoons by the pool drinking rosé wine and barbecues with red wine are synonymous with Mykonos. But why not do both, today private jets allow you to fly from Ibiza to Mykonos in just a few hours.
In short, you will have understood that our heart belongs to Mykonos...
